Julianne Robinson, BSM CPM LM

Julianne (Jewel) is passionate about empowering and educating expectant mothers by utilizing a holistic approach to midwifery. Since 2020, Julianne has worked in two clinical home birth practices and numerous community birth midwives in the Treasure Valley. She has strong relationships with other birth workers and allopathic practitioners in the community, and these clinical experiences showed her how impactful midwifery care can be.

In addition to midwifery services, Julianne offers a specialized online home birth education course, Hello, Home Birth!, for expectant families to prepare themselves for the duration of their pregnancy and postpartum months, as well as education and counseling on the importance of environmental toxins, nutrition, and holistic health.

Julianne lives in Boise with her two sons, fiancé, and three German Shorthaired Pointers. She’s passionate about herbal medicine and often in the kitchen, crafting up herbal goodness. Julianne is the owner and creator of Descended Traditions, an Ayurvedic postpartum meal service serving nourishing and ancestral-centered meals to new families in and around the Treasure Valley.

Julianne attended the Midwives College of Utah, where she is currently an instructor. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in midwifery and is a licensed midwife in the state of Idaho.

Jayme Crockett, BSM CPM LM

Jayme’s midwifery journey began with the birth of her son when she was 19 years old. She was fascinated with her body, which was now growing a baby – intrigued with how connected she felt to it. During her third trimester, she attended a labor and birth prep class taught by a self-proclaimed “birth activist.” Jayme is forever grateful for this moment when she learned about the physiology of labor and birth, to surrender to the intensity of labor, and most of all, to trust her body and baby to work together. As a direct result, she developed a passion for trauma-informed care and encourages women to trust their intuition when making decisions. Jayme supports families as they emotionally prepare for birth with recommendations on books, podcasts, websites, and other birth professionals.

Jayme has cultivated her worldview on midwifery through her own birthing experiences in other countries – among them Germany and Qatar, where home births were illegal. During her time in Qatar she partnered with a Canadian midwife who trusted birth so profoundly that she was willing to risk being arrested or banned from the country to attend births. It was an empowering and inspiring experience she won’t soon forget.

Jayme lives in Boise with her husband and eight children. The whole family loves being outside – hiking, biking, gardening, and running around with their growing flock of chickens. In her spare time, Jayme co-hosted a podcast called Mindful Birth, Peaceful Earth, and had the opportunity to stay at The Farm Midwifery Center in Tennessee for a week, interviewing the midwives and assisting with a documentary about its history.

Jayme has a bachelor’s degree from Midwives College of Utah and is a licensed midwife in the state of Idaho.
